It is the perfect experience for those who are new to surfing. Our beginner lessons cover everything from ocean awareness to standing up on your board.

At Kitecamp Tulum, we believe in providing a safe and enjoyable learning environment for surf beginners. Our experienced instructors are passionate about surfing and dedicated to helping you to succeed. They’ll teach you the fundamentals of surfing, including paddling techniques, board control, and riding the waves.

Here’s what you can expect from our surf beginner package:

STEP 1: POP-UP THEORIE & PRACTICE
Getting up on the board ad staying there will be your first skill when you get started in surfing!

STEP 2: TIMING AND PADDLING
An effective paddling technique & learning to perfect your timing is key to catching more waves!

STEP 3: BOTTOM TURN
A solid bottom turn will be the set up for the rest of the wave!

STEP 4: UNDERSTAND WAVE DYNAMIC
Find the open face of the wave. Go where you look & look where you go!

If in doubt, paddle out!

Paddleboarding on the ocean is the best for your inner balance. On flat days the bay at our hotel Maya Tulum, where our kiteschool is located, offers the perfect conditions to paddle out. It is not dificult and you can learn how to stand up within the first hour.
